Sony Ericsson in the mode of expansion of its Xperia series

Sony Ericsson gear up to enlarge its Xperia stylish hand set family. Based on the reports at mobile world congress expo in the month of February Sony Ericsson will be introducing its latest Xperia mobile sets.

Rumours point to Xperia X12 launch. The smart phone is wondered to be based on Android 2.3, with a 4.2-inch touch screen. Other whispered specs of Xperia line include 720p recording from an 8.1-megapixel camera sensor, HDMI output, and 802.11n Wi-Fi.

Sony Ericsson has also filed trademarks for the names Xperia Arc, Xperia Duo and Xperia Neo. A few reports also advocate that a PlayStation phone might be released with Xperia branding, possibly as the Play.

Samsung sells over 10mn units of Galaxy S

Samsung Electronics Co. said on Monday that it had sold 10 million units of its flagship smartphone, Galaxy S, since its global launch in June last year. Samsung said it has shipped its Galaxy S smartphones to various countries, including 4 million units to North America, 2.5 million units to Europe.

The world's second largest maker of cellphones by shipments after Nokia sold 2 million Galaxy S devices in the domestic market. The South Korean company expects to double sales of smartphones this year as it tries to narrow the gap with mobile handset leader Nokia and Apple. Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter ended in September. Its latest model, the iPhone 4, was also introduced in June. LG mobile collaborates with ICC Cricket World cup 2011

LG Mobile has recently announced ‘LG Mobile Army’, its marketing campaign associated with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Financed by an investment of US$ 9 million (40 crores), the campaign will employ 2,500 cadets, engage 5 lakh participants, 800 man days of activation and the distribution of 15 lakh units of exclusive cricket merchandise worth US$ 14 million (64 crores), informed the company.

Nokia unveil its affordable X2-01 mobile phone

Nokia has launched the X2-01 model and is currently retailing for a price of Rs. 4,495. Nokia X2-01 is a budget QWERTY phone operating on Symbian S40 system. It comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a 320x240 pixel resolution.



The Nokia X2-01 has 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM. The phone comes with a standard VGA resolution camera. The X2-01 supports a micro SD card up to 8GB, has USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The Nokia X2-01 has a 3.5mm audio jack and a dedicated music shortcut button.
